How do I Install Harding Comfort Vinyl Flooring?
- 1). Level the subfloor with a self-leveling concrete compound if there are any height differences of 1/16 inch or more, or any gaps 1/4 inch or wider in the subfloor.
- 2). Shorten all the door jam molding with an undercut saw by the thickness of the flooring plus an additional 1/16 inch so the vinyl slides beneath the door jams. Remove all baseboards.
- 3). Place the Harding comfort vinyl flooring within the project area and unroll it. Let it sit for approximately 24 hours to acclimate to the atmosphere of the room before installation.
- 4). Cut the wall edges of the Harding comfort vinyl flooring so that it lays flat to the floor. Make additional cuts to fit the flooring around fixtures and interior corners of installations, such as kitchen islands.
- 5). Fit two sections of 13-feet-by-2-inch flooring together by matching the pattern and overlapping the two pieces. Cut through both layers of the overlapped flooring with a utility knife so the two flooring sections lay perfectly against each other.
- 6). Bind seams between two flooring sections with seam tape. Center the tape under the seam and stick the two flooring pieces to the tape. Roll the seam with a hand roller to bond the flooring to the tape.
- 7). Nail baseboards back in place, attaching them to the wall rather than the floor.
