How to Make Wind Twisters
- 1). Rinse out an empty 2 liter bottle and remove any labels from it.
- 2). Wrap a piece of colored tape around the center of the bottle. The tape strip should be between 1/2 inch and 1 1/2 inches in diameter.
- 3). Place six more strips of colored tape on the bottle, with three strips above the center strip and three below it. Place the strips close enough together that they touch the adjacent strips.
- 4). Wrap a fabric measuring tape around the top strip of tape. Mark the adhesive tape at 3/4 inch intervals.
- 5). Cut vertical slits into the bottle using a craft knife. Begin at each marked interval on the top piece of tape and extend the slit to the bottom piece of tape.
- 6). Press on the top of the bottle with your hand to make the strips flare out. When this happens, pinch each flared strip in the middle to crease it.
- 7). Pierce a hole in the top of the bottle's cap using an ice pick or nail.
- 8). Tie a 6- to 10-inch long piece of fishing line to a paper clip.
- 9). Remove the bottle's cap and insert the end of the fishing line into the underside of the cap. Pull the line upward so that the paper clip catches on the underside of the cap. Reattach the cap onto the bottle.

Tie the free end of the fishing line to a fishing swivel. Tie another 2 foot piece of line to the other end of the swivel. - 11
Tie the free end of the 2-foot piece of string to an outdoor fixture, such as a hook that is attached to a roof. When the wind blows, your wind twister will turn with the breeze.
