DIY Plant Tables
- 1). Label all of the wood pieces with the appropriate letter. This makes putting the table together easier.
- 2). Make an "L" shape using part A and E with the 2 inch side of the wood facing up. Hammer the corner of the "L" shape together. Make three more "L" shapes using parts B and F, C and G and D and H. Nail the corners together.
- 3). Form a rectangle using two of the "L" shapes. Make a second rectangle using the other two "L" shapes. Nail the corners together.
- 4). Lay the piece of hardware cloth on top of one of the rectangle shapes, so that it lines up with the edges. Staple the hardware cloth into the wood around the edges of the wooden rectangle.
- 5). Face one of the 4 foot sides of the rectangle with the hardware cloth on it. Place part I up against one of the corners of the left 2 foot side with the 2-by-4 inch side facing up. Nail part I to the rectangle, and repeat the procedure on the other corner on the left 2 foot side with part J. Repeat the procedure with parts K and L on the right 2 foot side.
- 6). Flip the rectangle over so the legs are facing the ground. Slide the second rectangle inside the legs. Line up the edges of the rectangle, so they match the top rectangle. Nail the bottom rectangle to the legs. This strengthens the table, and keeps it from wobbling.
- 7). Lay the 22-by-34 inch piece of screen wire across the hardware cloth. This keeps any soil from falling through the hardware cloth. Fill the table with soil, and start planting.
