How to Use Find in Chkdsk

    • 1). Click the Window's "Start" button and select "Computer" from the Start menu.

    • 2). Right-click on the drive you would like to scan using Chkdsk.

    • 3). Select the "Properties" option.

    • 4). Click the "Tools" tab and select the "Check Now" button.

    • 5). Check the box located to the left of the "Automatically fix file system errors" option if you would like Chkdsk to automatically repair file system errors found during the scan.

    • 6). Check the box located to the left of the "Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors" option if you would like the Chkdsk operation to perform a deeper scan for bad sectors.

    • 7). Click the "Start" button to find any file system errors and or bad sectors on your computer's hard drive.
