How to Wire a 2 Way Speaker With a Rear Ambience Driver
- 1). Cut a length of speaker wire long enough to span from the amplifier or receiver to the two-way speaker.
- 2). Strip a 1/2 inch of insulation from each end of the speaker wires, using a wire stripping tool. Twist the bare wires tightly to prevent stray leads from causing short circuits.
- 3). Unscrew the binding post caps on both the speaker and amplifier, exposing the hole on the post caps.
- 4). Slide the side of the speaker wire that has a molded ridge or printing into the red--or positive--terminal hole. Rotate the cap clockwise to secure the wire. Repeat for the black--or negative--terminal.
- 5). Route the speaker wire to the two-way speaker. Slip the speaker wires into the holes on the speaker's exposed post holes, in the same manner as on the amplifier. Screw the caps back down to secure.
