How to Replace an Auto PCV Valve
- 1). Open the hood and locate the PCV valve. They are usually located on the valve cover. There will be a hose from that valve back to the intake manifold. Most engines have a diagram of all emission control systems under the hood. These diagrams are helpful in locating the PCV valve.
- 2). Unplug the PCV valve from the oil valve cover. Use pliers or a screwdriver to disconnect the hose on both ends, depending on what type of hose clamps you have.
- 3). Place the new PCV valve on the new hose and secure it with a clamp. Plug the new PCV valve into the oil valve cover. Reconnect the remaining end of the hose to the intake manifold and secure it with a clamp.
