How to Replace the EGR Valve in a Mazda
- 1). Disconnect the negative battery cable from the battery.
- 2). Remove the air supply hose, vacuum hose, and the electrical connection running to the valve. It is located on the right side of the engine block on many Mazdas, but the exact location varies according to the year and model of your car.
- 3). Remove the mounting bolts that hold the EGR valve in place.
- 4). Remove the EGR valve and install the new valve. Installation is the reverse of removal.
