Log on to Virtual-Field-Trips.com. - 2
Click on "Tour guide." This part of the site will explain how the site works. From this page you can click on the list of trips available. On this page they mention that these field trips are free, which is not to say they will not charge in the future. - 3
Click on "Categories," which will bring you to a page with eight categories to choose from, organized by subject matter. You will notice that they are circled and placed visibly on the page to entice you to click on one. - 4
To see how one category works, click on "Music." You will be brought to a second page that will list a few different choices. At this point click on one of the choices. Click on “Symphony for Kids” to discover the music they offer on this musical field trip. - 5
Click on “Just for Fun,” which is located at the top of the page. Choose from different activities such as, “Fireworks grades 4-12," “Roller Coasters Online,” or “Whale Watching.” Whichever you or your student chooses, you will not be bored. This site allows you to incorporate visual and hands on fun for your student. - 6
Click on, “Teacher's Guide.” This tab is located to the left of the page. This will give teachers an overall summary of the use of this site. - 7
Click on “Parent’s Guide” to read an overview of this site and the reasons parents should be using it. With this site you can sit your child down and allow him to explore the many places to go and the many things to do. Allow your child to plan his own trips and be his own navigator. This will teach him to be self-motivated and independent.
