How Do I Remove Mold From Vinyl Boat Seats?
- 1). Mix 1 cup of chlorine bleach and 1 cup of mild liquid soap into a 1-gallon bucket of water. Mix the solution, but stop as soon as suds begin to form.
- 2). Dip a clean cloth in the mixture and scrub the moldy area vigorously. Return the cloth to the bucket and dip a stiff-bristle scrub brush into the chlorine bleach/detergent/water mixture. Scrub the remaining mold from the area.
- 3). Dip a clean cloth into the bucket of clear water and wipe the vinyl seat covers down with fresh water to dispel any remaining mold spores. Dry the seat covers completely with a clean, dry towel, taking extra care around seams, stitches and any decorative vinyl piping around the edges of the seats.
- 4). Spray a light coat of vinyl upholstery treatment on the seating surfaces and a heavy coat on the seams, to help prevent the return of the mold. Allow to stand for two hours or until dry. Buff with a dry, clean towel.
