How to Use the Safer Pantry Pest Trap
- 1). Purchase the Safer Pantry Pest Trap at your local supermarket or home improvement store. The traps are sold in packs of two, but you may want to purchase multiple packs if your moth problem is severe. Depending on the number of moths in your home, you may need to replace the trap every two or three days until the problem is under control.
- 2). Follow the directions and fold one trap into a triangular shape and place a pheromone square in the bottom center of the trap. This square is extremely important because it releases the natural pheromones that the male moths are attracted to--drawing them into the trap where they will stick to the inner walls.
- 3). Place the trap in your pantry, kitchen cabinets, or other location in the home where pantry moths are a problem. Regardless of how many moths you have in the home, only one trap should be used at a time per 1,000 square feet of living space. Multiple traps within close proximity to each another can confuse male moths and make it difficult for them to find the source of the pheromones.
- 4). Check the trap periodically and replace when the sides of the trap are covered with dead moths.
