- 1). Open Windows Explorer. Double-click "My Documents" or "My Computer".
- 2). Right-click on the file or folder that you want to zip.
- 3). Choose the "Send To" option from the list that appears.
- 4). Choose the "Compressed (zipped) Folder" option. Windows will create a zipped file with the same name as the original file or folder. The new file will have the ".zip" file extension.
