How to Remove Mold on Walls
- 1). Put on a respirator, safety goggles and rubber gloves before cleaning the mold off the walls.
- 2). Dampen the affected area of the wall with a wet rag or washcloth. Wetting the area will help reduce the amount of mold spores dislocated while cleaning.
- 3). Scrub the mold from the wall using a scrub brush and non-ammonia soap or detergent, scrub until you remove all visible mold.
- 4). Mix 1/2 cup of bleach and a gallon of water in a bucket.
- 5). Wet a rag or washcloth with the bleach and water solution, and then thoroughly disinfect the cleaned area with the rag.
- 6). Use a fan to quickly dry the cleaned area.
- 7). Launder any clothes worn while cleaning as soon as possible.
