How to Remove Hair From Laundry
- 1). Purchase a lint brush or a lint roller. If you don't have one or don't want to buy one, some masking tape will do the trick. Work the brush, roller or tape over the entire garment to remove the hair. Note that this will take some time and you may not remove all of the hair.
- 2). Use an enzymatic detergent or presoak product when washing your clothing. Enzymatic detergents and presoaks, typically used in removing protein and pet stains, are also effective in dealing with laundry that is heavily covered with hair. While they will not remove all of the hair, they can weaken it, making it easier to remove later. Follow the directions on the packaging.
- 3). Place a fabric softener sheet into your dryer with your clothes if you don't already. In addition to improving the feel of your laundry, fabric softener sheets also have the added advantage of removing hair and lint. Fabric softener sheets are a useful alternative to lint rollers and brushes.
