How to Keep Cat Hair Off Wood
- 1). Vacuum the wood surface regularly to collect loose cat hair and dander. Use a hose attachment to clean furniture surfaces.
- 2). Wipe down any wood surface except for the floor with a cleaning rag sprayed with a mist of furniture polish. Unlike a dry rag that would just push around and collect some of the hair and dander, the polish actually works to collect the elements. Browse your cleaning product aisle of the supermarket as there are even some furniture polishes designed to work even harder to collect pet dander and hair.
- 3). Wipe wood floors with a damp rag or mop. For a cleaning solution, mix about 1 gallon water with 1 cup white vinegar and mop the wood floors. Do not use furniture polish on your wood floors as this creates a slippery surface that can lead to a slip or fall.
