- 1). Contact your ISP and ask them for the correct IP addresses of both their primary and secondary DNS servers. Note those addresses down.
- 2). Click on the network icon in the tray notification area of your Windows taskbar. The tray notification area is at the bottom right of your screen.
- 3). Click on "Open Network and Sharing Center." Then click on "Change adapter settings" in the left-hand pane.
- 4). Right-click on the icon of your network card and select "Properties."
- 5). Select "Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)" and click on the "Properties" button.
- 6). Type the IP addresses which your ISP gave you in the "Preferred DNS server" and "Alternate DNS server" fields. Some ISPs allow your computer to receive the correct IP addresses of their DNS servers automatically. If that is the case, simply select "Obtain DNS server address automatically." Then click on "OK."
