How to Fix Power Seats in a Toyota Tundra
- 1). Turn the ignition switch to "Lock." Disconnect the negative batter cable and wait approximately two minutes.
- 2). Remove the plastic front and rear seat track covers using a screwdriver.
- 3). Take out the left hand front seat assembly. Have the seat back stand upright as much as it can go, take out the four corresponding securing bolts and undo the electrical connectors to ensure a proper and complete removal of the seat assembly.
- 4). Try to completely remove the two seat track locating pins on the front, inner and outer track by accessing them through the underside of the seat assembly. Use the Power Cut-off tool to take off as much as the pins as you can. You should only be left with 2mm of pin or less.
- 5). Brush away metal shavings, clean the locating pin's metal surface with silicone remover and use a brush-on paint on the metal surfaces so that corrosion won't be a problem.
- 6). Replace the left hand assembly, connect the electrical connectors again and install the four seat track retaining bolts with a few twists of your fingers. Replace the plastic seat track covers. Connect the negative battery terminal before testing to see if the fix worked.
