Digital Antenna

A Digital antenna is needed to receive broadcasts if you do not have cable, satellite or a converter box. Digital antenna can be either in-door units or out-door units. Converter Box

• If you are using an out-door analog antenna you will need a digital converter box in order to watch television. These boxes take the analog signal and convert it to the digital format. The box than directly provides your digital picture. Converter boxes will allow you a larger variety of channels due to the fact that it is outside.
  
  

Satellite and Cable

• All cable and satellite providers broadcast in the digital format. Because you use a special box and receiver in order to receive the programming, no digital antenna is needed for this type of transmission. Most companies now offer high end receivers that are able to broadcast in 1080i high definition.
