How to Replace a Windshield Wiper Blade Motor

    • 1). Disconnect negative cable from the negative battery terminal. Loosen the retaining nut on the cable clamp and pull the clamp off the terminal.

    • 2). Lift the wiper arm off and away from the windshield until the arm locks into a vertical position.

    • 3). Loosen and remove the nut holding the wiper arm assembly to the wiper motor.

    • 4). Remove the wiper blade arm assembly. Remove the wiper arm gaskets.

    • 5). Remove the screws holding the front plastic trim at the base of the windshield to expose the wiper motor and pull off the trim.

    • 6). Remove the bolts holding the wiper motor in place and remove the motor.

    • 7). Plug the electrical connector to the wiper motor.

    • 8). Install the new motor. Installation is the reverse of removal.
