- 1). Place your Nero 8 installation disc in a DVD drive and not a CD drive. Nero 8 requires you to have a DVD drive installed in your computer to complete the installation of the program. Because the disc is a DVD instead of a CD, a standard CD drive cannot be used.
- 2). Check your computer's manual to make sure you have at least a 1GHz computer processor installed in your machine. Nero 8 will not be able to install itself on any computer running a slower processor.
- 3). Make sure your computer is running a version of the Windows operating system that is Windows 2000 or newer. This includes 2000, XP, Vista, or 7. Nero 8 will not be able to be successfully installed on any computer that is running an older version of Windows like ME, 98, or 95.
- 4). Log out of your computer's guest account and log in as the system administrator. You can only install Nero 8 on your computer if you're logged in as the admin. Click "Start" and "Log Off", select your admin account icon and sign back in as the administrator. Then, try to install Nero 8 again.
