How to Clean & Remove Crayon From a Car Seat
- 1). Place the edge of a dull knife, such as a butter knife, at the edge of the crayon stain and scrape the knife over the car seat. Scrape the stain one to two more times with the knife to remove as much of the top layer of the stain as possible.
- 2). Apply a lubricating spray to the crayon stain until the stain is saturated. Allow the spray to sit for approximately five minutes to dissolve and loosen the crayon wax.
- 3). Scrub the stain with a stiff-bristled brush, such as a toothbrush, to work the spray into the stain. The stain should begin to come out of the fabric.
- 4). Blot the stain with a clean towel to remove as much of the moisture as possible. Do not use a paper towel as it will leave white paper particles on the seat.
- 5). Examine the stain to see if it remains. If the stain remains, reapply the lubricating spray and scrub until the stain is completely gone.
- 6). Apply 1 tsp. of dish soap to a damp sponge and scrub the area of the stain to remove all traces of the lubricating spray.
- 7). Rinse the sponge in clean water and wipe the seat with it until all traces of soap are removed.
- 8). Blot the area firmly with a cloth and allow the seat to air dry.
