How to Add Shake Reduction to a Pentax K100d
- 1). Hold the camera in your hand and install a freshly charged battery and empty memory card into the camera. Attach a Pentax "KAF2, KAF or KA mount lenses. These lenses will work with the Pentax K100D. Pentax "K" and "S" mount lenses will also work on the camera with some limitations.
- 2). Turn the "Shake Reduction" system on by sliding a slider switch located on the bottom right on the back of the camera to "On." The Pentax K100D allows you to choose when you want to use the system and will work with Pentax lenses that you may already own. Unlike similar systems with other manufacturers that are lens-based, the Pentax system is a camera-based system. This is a big benefit for Pentax shooters who may have a significant collection of lenses.
- 3). Hold the camera to your eye to compose the picture. Press the shutter release to activate the camera's auto focus, metering and shake reduction systems. When you happy with the composition, press the shutter release fully to take the picture.
