- 1). Connect the MP3 player to your computer using the USB cord. In a few seconds you will see an icon of your device with its name appear on the screen of your desktop. Your MP3 player is now mounted on your computer.
- 2). Open the ipodpatcher file. Open the applications folder on your computer and click the ipodpatcher icon. The program will launch and a screen will appear displaying basic information about your MP3 player.
- 3). Uninstall the program. A screen will appear asking if you would like to install the Rockbox bootloader. Instead, enter the letter "u" for "uninstall" and press "Enter." After a short time a message will appear announcing that the bootloader has been successfully uninstalled.
- 4). Exit ipodpatcher. You may then go to your applications folder and move the ipodpatcher.exe to your Trash folder. This will remove the file from your computer.
- 5). Remove the .rockbox directory. Click on the MP3 icon to open a search window displaying the device's contents. Select the Rockbox folder and move it to the Trash folder on your computer. This will erase any remaining Rockbox plugins or content.
- 6). Unplug the MP3 player from your computer. Go to your computer desktop and move the MP3 icon to your Trash folder. The device is now unmounted and can be removed safely.
- 7). Restart your mp3 player. Turn the mp3 player off and wait approximately 10 seconds. Turn the machine back on and the original mp3 firmware will load.
