By panic I mean, start acting irrationally, doing stupid crazy things.
Yelling at your ex, or even pleading with them not to break up with you is what I mean by this.
All these actions are going to do in your ex's mind is cement their decision to call it off in the first place.
Nine times out of 10 the spark between the two of you isn't gone, in that odd 1 time it may be (but if it was, your better off anyways).
Give your ex a little bit of time and a little bit of space.
Allow them to do their own thing for a little bit.
After a little while now's a good time to start trying to open up the communication lines.
There's many different ways to open the lines of communication, but I would recommend a phone call or email.
Text messaging, I don't know why, but I don't like this method of attempting to re-establish those lines of communication, but that's just me.
Once you've made that all important initial communication, the most important part from here is to just take things slow and sit back and enjoy that things are starting again.
