How to Read Along With Audio Children's Books
- 1). Purchase a read along book with an accompanying CD. They are sold as one package, book and CD.
- 2). Place the CD in an audio CD player and push the "Play" button.
- 3). Open the book to the beginning and listen to the instructions on the CD. Have the book in front of the child so she can follow along.
- 4). Turn a page in the book when you hear a beep or tone. Each book publisher will identify the sound to signal you to turn the page. Listen to the story and follow along with the words, turning the pages of the book when directed by the voice or when hearing the "beep."
- 1). Using your computer, go to a website such as Storynory or Light up Your Brain. These offer free children's audio books to download, listen to and read.
- 2). Click on the story of your choice. Print the words of the book when they appear on the screen if using the website, Light Up Your Brain. Print the words of the story to be read by going to "File" and selecting "Print." At the website, Storynory, the printed version stays on the screen while playing the sound.
- 3). Click on the download MP3 button at the website, Light Up Your Brain, and a new window will open that begins to play the story being read aloud. At Storynory click the arrow on the audio player to begin the sound.
- 4). Follow along with the words as the story is read to you.
