How to Replace a Mass Air Flow Sensor on an 85 Corvette
- 1). Turn off the engine and open the Corvette's hood. Unplug the engine wiring connector from the base of the MAF sensor.
- 2). Release the forward clamps on the MAF to unhook it from the air cleaner assembly outlet tube. Loosen the hose clamp on the engine side of the MAF sensor, using a screwdriver.
- 3). Pull the old MAF sensor off the engine side tube and set it aside. Slide the new MAF onto the engine side tube. Tighten the hose clamp, using the screwdriver, after ensuring the tube mates securely all the way around the MAF sensor.
- 4). Place the air cleaner assembly outlet tube onto the inlet of the new MAF sensor. Slip the edges of the forward clamps onto the air cleaner assembly outlet tube and lock them down.
- 5). Plug the engine wiring harness connector into the new MAF sensor. Close the Corvette's hood.
