How to Restore Quicken Data from a Back Up
If you are reading this tutorial, you may have experienced a hard drive crash or some other significant problem with the computer you use Quicken on, or maybe you are using the backup and restore functions to move data to a new computer. In either case, congratulations on having backed up your Quicken data so that it can be restored.
Follow these steps to restore Quicken data:
- Put the back CD or DVD into the drive, or connect the USB drive with the data you want to restore.
- Click on File, Backup and Restore, Restore from Backup File
- Either select one of the files listed or select Restore from your backup and click Browse to find the backup.
- After you select the file to restore, Click on Restore Backup at the bottom of the pop-up window.
- If you are trying to restore the file you currently have open, choose whether you want to overwrite this file with the restored file, or create a copy of the file without overwriting anything. Only choose to overwrite the current data file if you are positive this is what you want to do as the operation cannot be undone.
- Click on Restore Backup again and the Quicken data restore process will start.
