How to Troubleshoot Noises From a Kenmore Laundry Center Dryer
- 1). Open your Kenmore Laundry Center Dryer if you hear rattling or clanging from the inside of the dryer. Look for foreign objects such as coins and lighters that may have been in the clothes.
- 2). Remove all belts from your clothes. If buckles are attached to your clothes and can be removed, remove them before putting the item into the dryer. Turn clothes inside out to hide the buttons.
- 3). Remove clothes from the Kenmore Laundry Center Dryer if you hear a squealing sound or smell burning. This means the dryer is overloaded. Heavy wash loads may make a thumping sound as well.
- 4). Check that the unit is placed on an even surface. Adjust the legs of the unit using a screwdriver to ensure the dryer and washer combo is even. If the floor underneath is vibrating, place a piece of wood underneath the unit to muffle the sound.
- 5). Check to ensure the shipping bolts on the back of the machine are removed. This should be done at installation.
