How to Use Sketchup Sandbox
- 1). Open SketchUp. Select the default human figure standing on the ground plane in the main view and delete it.
- 2). Select "Window" from the menu and choose "Preferences." In the dialog that appears, click on the "Extensions" category. Then click on the "Sandbox Tools" check box. Click "OK."
- 3). Go to "View" in the menu and choose "Toolbars." From the options provided, choose "Sandbox."
- 4). Click on the "From Scratch" button in the sandbox tools. Use the tool to draw a rectangle on the ground plane. Right-click on the shape and choose "Explode."
- 5). Select the "Smooth" tool from the sandbox tools. Adjust its diameter by typing in a diameter in the lower, right-hand corner.
- 6). Use the tool to push down or raise up sections of the shape to mold it into the shape you want for the landscape.
- 7). Select the shape. Right-click on it and select "Soften Edges." In the dialog, adjust the slider until you like the preview. Click "OK." When you are finished, save you work.
