    Gotu Kola

    • Gotu kola is a herb that stops and slows hair loss by inducing a calming effect. Commonly available in Indian markets, the dosage directions are listed on the label.

    Fenugreek

    • Fenugreek is used to make a paste that energizes the scalp and leads to new hair growth. Mix ½ tsp. of fenugreek powder with ¾ cup of unsweetened coconut milk and apply the paste to the scalp. Then cover the scalp with a plastic cap for 30 minutes. Later, wash the hair and scalp with a gentle shampoo. This treatment is recommended twice a week for two months.

    Egg and Olive Oil

    • Mix a raw egg with enough olive oil to cover all the hair and scalp. Apply the mixture and leave it on for about an hour before shampooing. It is recommended not to rinse with very hot water, as this could cook the egg and make it difficult to wash out.

    Olive Oil and Honey

    • For thinning hair and baldness, apply a soft paste of warm olive oil, 1 tsp. of cinnamon powder and 1 tbsp. of honey to the scalp at least 30 minutes before shampooing.

    Henna

    • Promote hair growth and soften the hair with a thick paste made with equal quantities of henna and gooseberry powder, used as a shampoo. A regular conditioner can be used after the shampoo.

    Yogurt

    • Indians believe yogurt contains all essential elements for healthy hair and not only reduces hair loss but also softens the hair. Room temperature yogurt is applied to the scalp at least 30 minutes before shampooing and washed out with regular shampoo.
