    • 1). Perform a clean reinstall of the software. It is possible that something went wrong during the initial installation. Open the Control Panel within the Start menu. Click the "Uninstall a Program" link underneath the "Programs" header. This will open a list of all the programs you have installed on your computer. Select "Nibiru" from the list. Click the "Uninstall" button. Once the installation is complete, reinstall the software using the original installation disks.

    • 2). Update your computer's sound and video drivers. The drivers are the software that enables your operating system to talk to various hardware components. To update the drivers for your video and sound cards, visit the websites for the cards' manufacturers and download the latest versions of the driver software. Install the software as directed.

    • 3). Install the latest version of DirectX. DirectX is the Windows utility that supports multimedia playback. Download the most recent release of DirectX from the Microsoft website. This program is available for free.

    • 4). Reduce your computer's hardware acceleration. Open the Start menu, then open the Control Panel. Click "Appearance and Personalization." Under the "Display" heading, click "Screen Resolution." Click "Advanced Settings." This will open a pop-up window. Select the "Troubleshoot" tab. Click "Change Settings." Adjust the "Hardware Acceleration" slider down from "Full" to the third notch from the left. Click "OK" and restart your computer.
