- 1). Set the piece of glass donut down on a flat surface, and clean it off thoroughly with a rag. Wipe down the entire piece. Flip it over and clean all the sides. This will make it much easier and smoother to cut.
- 2). Measure and mark where on the glass donut you will be making the cut. Draw a small line across the donut with a black marker. Make sure the black marker is clearly visible so you can see it when you are making the cut.
- 3). Line up a glass cutter along the mark on the glass donut. Hold the glass donut in place with your non-dominant hand, and press the glass cutter firmly into the donut with your dominant hand. Keep your non-dominant hand as far away from the cutter as possible so you do not cut it when you are cutting the glass.
- 4). Line up a small ruler on the glass donut along the line you drew so a straight cut can be made. Score the glass with the glass cutter. Run the cutter from one end to the other, and repeat the process until the glass breaks into two pieces.
- 5). Wipe off the edges of the glass with a clean rag to remove the sharp shards that are on the edge. Repeat the process for any other glass donuts that you need to cut.
