Dragonfly Lovers - How to Collect Dragonflies
She's been telling me all about her new hobby.
She even has me getting excited about it.
Here's her story.
My love for dragonflies started when I was growing up in the Philippians.
My sisters and I would go out into our backyard, capture dragon flies, tie strings to their tails and fly them like kites.
My passion (some may call it an obsession) for collecting dragonflies started a few years ago after reminiscing on all my wonderful childhood memories.
I now have more than 300 dragonfly items and I'm still actively recruiting new dragonfly items each day.
I even collect real ones.
I finally caught a small purple dragonfly when I went up to Whidbey Island, WA.
It was great seeing one and I decided to keep it and put it in my photo album.
I've actually bought some dragonflies that were preserved in a box.
I have a few hanging on my wall in picture frames.
As a collector I'm finding more great dragonfly items online all the time.
My friends and family are even looking for me.
My girlfriend just left yesterday to visit California.
She say's she'll keep her eyes open for me.
I'm excited to see what she brings back.
Dragonfly products are like highly prized collectors items to me.
Yesterday I was hunting for some nice dragonfly lamps and found some very unique and exclusive ones.
They were a bit pricey but I just had to buy some.
Today I found a huge dragonfly water fountain that I'm thinking of buying, it's huge about 14 ft tall, maybe I can put it outside my front porch, I'm so hooked.
Here's my steps to collecting dragonfly items Step 1 Decide on the size of your collection.
I recently moved from an apartment to a house so I have a lot of space.
Although I have dragonflies everywhere I have one room dedicated to my collection.
Step 2 Learn all about them.
There are over a thousand awesome and beautiful dragonfly species.
Step 3 Browse online stores, and little gift shops to find great items to add to your collection.
You might find that special treasure that becomes your all time favorite.
Step 4 Let others know that you collect dragonfly items.
Friends and family have helped contribute to my collection by telling where they spotted a unique item or by surprising me with a gift.
Step 5 Have fun with your collecting but look at it as an investment.
One day I may gather up my entire collection and sell it.
For now there's now sign of me slowing down...
I just found some new limited edition dragonfly items!
