- 1). Cut the end off of the cable you intend to attach the SpeakON plug to and use the stripper portion of the wire cutters to remove about 3/4-inch off of the cable sheath to expose the internal wires.
- 2). Slide the bushing of the SpeakON plug over the cable. This is the short plastic end piece with the grooves in it.
- 3). Insert the chuck over the cable and fit it into the bushing. The chuck is the long thin piece with the pronged ends. Make sure the pronged ends are facing toward the exposed wiring.
- 4). Connect the exposed cable wires to the appropriate ports at the end of the connector insert piece using an Allen wrench or flat-head screwdriver. The connector insert is the cylindrical piece with the small circular ports at one end.
- 5). Fit the remaining housing piece over the connector insert to secure the cables. Push all four pieces of the SpeakON together and tighten the pieces by turning the base bushing until the four pieces are secure.
