What Cookware Should I Use on Frigidair Range Top?

    Induction Ranges

    • If your Frigidaire range top is an induction unit with a flat ceramic top, use enamel-covered cast iron, enamel or stainless steel cookware that has a flat and smooth bottom. Enamel-covered cast iron, enamel and stainless steel cookware also creates a magnetic field that activates the electromagnet field inside the induction burner. Using incorrect cookware can cause the induction burners to shut off automatically.

    Electric-Coil Ranges

    • For Frigidaire range tops with exposed electric coil-type burners, use aluminum, copper, stainless steel, cast iron, heatproof porcelain and glass cookware that has a flat and smooth bottom. Aluminum and copper accept heat better than the other types of cookware, and glass cookware is a poor conductor of heat.

    Gas Ranges

    • Similar to ranges with electric coil-type burners, Frigidaire gas ranges require aluminum, copper, stainless steel, cast iron, heatproof porcelain and glass cookware that has a flat and smooth bottom. And as with electric range tops, glass cookware is a poor conductor of heat.

    Cookware Staining Issue

    • No matter what type of Frigidaire range top you have, heat will stain and discolor your cookware, especially aluminum and copper pots. Stainless steel cookware is the easiest to clean, and porcelain cookware's ability to absorb heat varies, depending on the other materials that are mixed with the porcelain.
