How to Install Recessed Trim

1). Determine what type of springs the recessed trim has. They can be either coiled springs or squeezable rod springs.
2). Hook the coil springs to the corresponding hole on the can, which is the space inside the fixture. Line up the recessed trim with the springs to hook it in place. Turn the trim slightly as you guide the springs until the trim is flush with your ceiling.
3). Squeeze the rod springs together. This should make it small enough so that both of the ends can be place inside the designated holes. Then, the recessed trim can be guided into place.
4). Push on the recessed trim to ensure it's secure on the can. If you feel that it's loose, you might need to remove it and re-guide the springs for a more secure fit.
