When performing magic for kids parties the magician must take into consideration the different ages they will have in attendance.
You never want to do magic for kids that is so complicated they will not understand the trick you did.
You have to keep it simple and keep it active if you want to entertain kids.
Magic for kids can be performed at birthday parties, school gatherings, class picnics, and at talent shows, but the magician needs to have a line-up of tricks that quickly moves from one to the next one.
Children do not have long attention spans and they cannot concentrate on one trick for a long period of time.
So anything you do that has a lot of detail or takes a long time to build up the suspense for will be lost on a crowd of children.
Stick to pulling things out of your hat and making things magically appear.
Magic for kids should involve animals as much as possible.
Children love animals and the more that you can involve animals in your act the more entertained the children will be.
They will be able to overlook some of your flaws if they are focused on adorable bunnies, big frogs, or birds.
Get an animal and incorporate it into your act.
Involve the children in hands on way as many times as you can.
Ask for plenty of audience volunteers and get the children involved in what is happening.
You will keep the attention of the group better and you will make the children feel more connected to you.
If you can involve a child in a trick that involves an animal then you will really have performed a successful act.
Generally when involving the children the magician will ask them to be a part of card tricks or disappearing object tricks.
Card tricks can amaze kids when they are done correctly and when you make something disappear you make their day.
They love to try and figure out how you do your magic so do not be surprised if you are there after the show and they ask you a lot of questions about what you did and how you did it.
Being a magician is a fun and rewarding activity.
You can do this as a hobby and perform for friends and family or you can pursue this as your career.
Magic for kids can be performed for small groups or large auditoriums filled with children.
