Check your online Electronic Arts, or EA, account. If you registered the game online, as recommended during the installation, the CD key will be displayed next to the list of games registered on your account page.

Use a free, third-party key finding program. Because CD keys are hidden away in the registry, there is no guarantee that these programs will be able to match up the keys they find with the exact program you're looking for.

Contact customer support. Create an account at help.thesims.com if you don't have one already, and click the "Contact Us" link. Fill out the questionnaire, and request assistance retrieving your "Sims 3" CD key. You can also contact EA by phone at 866-543-5435.
