- 1). Travel to the world you want to mine for minerals and make inhabitable. Most likely the world is a barren land with nothing but craters. On your control panel at the bottom of the screen it shows what is preventing the planet from harboring life. This ranges from the planet being too hot or cold and the atmosphere being too high or too low.
- 2). Click on the atmosphere tools you have in the control panel. Each tool is used to adjust features on a planet. If the planet is too cold select the "Heat" option, while you want the "Cold" option if the planet is too hot. Fly over the planet while firing the tool. You are going to see the planetary level move closer to the correct temperature for life. Once you reach the correct temperature, select the atmosphere tool to increase or decrease the current planetary atmosphere and fire it at the planet while you fly over it. Once you reach a desirable atmosphere and temperature, a prompt appears on the screen stating this.
- 3). Visit a planet that currently has life. Select the tractor beam tool in your control panel and fly over a tree. Hold down the tractor beam control to beam up a tree into your cargo hold. Repeat this process with a bush and a shrub (you need at least one of each, although it doesn't hurt to pick up a few more).
- 4). Fly over the planet until you find animals roaming around. You need three different kinds of animals: a herbivore, carnivore and omnivore. When you place the tractor beam over the animal it states what kind of animal it is. Beam up at least one of each into your cargo hold.
- 5). Fly back to the planet you want to improve the T-score on. Click the anti-tractor beam option. This reverses the tractor beam, allowing you to set items down. Select each of your six items one at a time and beam the objects down to the planetary surface. Once in place, the T-score of the planet improves thanks to the new animals and plants.
