How to Remove Scotch Tape From Stamps

1). Cut the stamp away from the envelope using a scissors. Leave a small margin of envelope around the border of the stamp.
2). Fill the bowl with water and submerge the stamp with the scotch tape in the bowl. Ensure the stamp faces up so that the envelope is in direct contact with the water.
3). Allow the stamp to soak in the water. Most stamps are made with non water-soluble ink. However, not all are. Thus, it is advisable to monitor the stamp and make sure the ink does not run out.
4). Add one tablespoon salt to the water if the envelope is colored. This will prevent excessive color from the envelope from running out.
5). Remove the stamp from the water after about thirty minutes. You will be able to see the tape separating from the stamp.
6). Use tweezers to carefully peel away the tape from the stamp.
7). Fold the blotter paper and sandwich the stamp between the fold. Place the weight on the stamp and allow it to dry.
