    Replace Exhaust Manifolds

    • 1). Park your truck on a flat surface and set the parking brake. Position the truck's jack stand underneath the front-end frame. Jack the truck off of the ground and place jack stands underneath the frame just behind each of the front wheels. Lower the truck so that it rests on the jack stands securely.

    • 2). Open the hood of your F250 and locate the engine batteries. Disconnect the negative terminals of each battery and move these cables far away from the batteries and any other metal surface.

    • 3). Unscrew the nuts that hold the exhaust manifold heat shields onto each of the manifolds. Wiggle each of the heat shields a bit so that you can remove these parts from the engine, accessing each manifold.

    • 4). Loosen the nuts and bolts that hold each exhaust manifold, or header, to the cylinder heads. Leave these nuts and bolts intact, and crawl underneath the vehicle to access the exhaust pipes. Disconnect the bottom of each exhaust manifold from the corresponding exhaust pipes. Slide the exhaust manifolds out from these pipes.

    • 5). Finish loosening the nuts and bolts that hold each exhaust manifold in place. Remove each of the exhaust manifolds from the cylinder heads and set aside for later disposal. Lift the manifold gaskets off of the engine and set aside as well. If these gaskets cannot be removed by simply lifting, take a flat-head screwdriver and pry these gaskets away from the engine.

    • 6). Scrape away any elemental material that has built-up on the cylinder head surface, where the old gaskets and manifolds were just removed. Apply gasket removal solvent, if necessary, with a linen cloth to wipe away any remaining debris.

    • 7). Position the new manifold gaskets on top of the bolt studs, ensuring that the holes align with the cylinder ports of the F250. Place each of the exhaust manifolds onto the respective gaskets and hand-screw each of the nuts and bolts into place. Crawl underneath the vehicle and connect the new manifolds to the intended exhaust pipes. Torque the bolts that connect the exhaust manifold to the cylinder heads to 25 foot-pounds.

    • 8). Replace the heat shield on each of the exhaust manifolds.

    Replace Air Intake

    • 1). Loosen the fastening hardware that connects the air intake tube to the 6.0 L's throttle body. Keep these parts connected, though.

    • 2). Remove the radiator de-gas hose from its hook-up and set aside for later use. Disconnect the electrical wiring connection, or MAF sensor, that attaches to the intake tube.

    • 3). Remove the filter cover from the air filter. Pull this air filter out and set aside for later disposal. Continue disconnecting the air intake tube from the throttle body and pull out of the engine.

    • 4). Position the new air filter and provided intake tube into place. Connect the intake tube to the throttle body with the provided fastening hardware.

    • 5). Connect all of the electrical connections to the new air intake tube. Connect the negative terminal to the engine's battery and secure with the factory bolt.
