    • 1). Cut along the top and bottom perimeter of the moulding with the utility knife where the moulding contacts the wood or glass to release the moulding from any adhesive effect from paint or lacquer.

    • 2). Insert the edge of the putty knife into the crack between the moulding and panel, in the center of the moulding and pry up on it creating a crack large enough to insert the thin edge of a wedge into.

    • 3). Tap a wedge into the crack and pull out the putty knife. Do all four pieces of the moulding in the frame.

    • 4). Return to the first piece and tap another wedge in beside the first one. Move around the perimeter of the panel, tapping wedges into the crack one beside each other until there is a crack approximately 1/16 to 1/8-inch all the way around the panel.

    • 5). Lay a piece of 1/4-by-3/4-by-3/4-inch scrap wood on the panel in-between the wedges. Insert the tip of the chisel into the crack and using the 1/4-inch scrap for a fulcrum, pry down on the handle of the chisel, prying the moulding up. Work your way around the perimeter of the frame, prying the quarter round out of the frame.
