How do I Wire Halo Headlights on a 1993 Honda Civic?
- 1). Separate the white and black wires coming out of the back of the Halo headlight assembly.
- 2). Pair one white wire with another white wire and one black wire with another black wire.
- 3). Strip the insulation from the tips of the white and black wires to reveal bare copper leads. Braid the bare copper leads of the same-colored wires around each other.
- 4). Insert the male crimp connector on each of the white and block pairs of wires. The male crimp connector features a small, plastic tube that is set inside the female crimp connector. Crimp these connectors onto the leaders so that they are secure. Wrap some electrical tape over the male crimp connector to ensure moisture does not get into the circuit.
- 5). Take the spare red and black wire that came with the Halo headlights and put a female crimp connector on each one.
- 6). Prop open the hood of the car and turn on the headlights.
- 7). Connect the negative lead of the voltmeter to the negative terminal on the battery. Connect the positive lead of the voltmeter to the leads on the car's headlight wiring harness to test which of the wires on the wiring harness is positive. Most likely, the positive wire -- the one with power coming through it -- is the red one.
- 8). Connect the positive wire from the wiring harness to the red wire with the crimp connector using a quick connector. Fasten the quick connector to both wires by clamping down on it with your pliers. Repeat this process for the black wire from the wiring harness and the spare black wire that has the crimp connector on it.
- 9). Connect the female crimp connector of the black wire to the male crimp connector of the pair of black wires from the Halo headlights. Repeat this process for the red wire and the pair of white wires.
