Making marriage work requires compromise and understanding.
In order to save your marriage from countless headaches and ridiculous arguments, one of the things you'll have to grow to understand is that not everything that your husband does is your business.
Be A Good Wife and Mind Your Business You and your husband are a unit, but you're still two separate individuals who lead separate lives and enjoy different things on a daily basis.
Every single person you know, man or woman, has things they do that they wish not to answer questions about.
And if you happen to push on their buttons in an effort to get those answers, you'll see how aggravated they get with you.
Your husband is included within this.
Learning to respect his boundaries as a human and a man will allow you to reinforce and command respect for yours.
As it stands, there are probably many things you might want the answer to but will never get from him.
With that said, I'm sure there are plenty of things you do that you wish not to have to account for to anyone else as well, right? What Isn't Your Business His family.
Don't badger your husband about his relationship with his family.
What he does with them is more than likely his business, especially if they have a rocky history.
While family is important, if there's a valid reason he's not talking to someone within his kin, let it be and don't try to be the peacemaker.
Worry about your family and friends.
His job and business related topics.
While most men are not interested in keeping secrets from their wives, sometimes it's necessary for him to keep details of his job private.
If your husband works for the military or government agencies, you may know this to be especially true.
If this might be the case, don't work yourself up over it - let it go, because it shouldn't affect the quality of your marriage at home.
What Is Your Business Some things, regardless of what anyone else says, are your right to know as his wife.
Who his friends are.
In order to know who your husband is and what he likes to do, it's important to know who his friend are and who he spends time with.
This doesn't mean you go everywhere with him and stalk him, just that you're aware of the company he keeps.
His bad habits.
We all have little bad habits, some more than others.
But your husband's bad habits are of concern to you, especially if they have the potential to put your whole family in a world of trouble.
Poor habits like alcohol abuse and gambling are especially important to know about.
Save the nitpicking about irrelevant things for the birds.
It's intelligent as a woman to know who your husband is and what he does.
However, you must also understand that there will be times where the best way to save your marriage from conflict is to pick your battles - and things you need to know about - wisely.
