How Do I Install and Uninstall Software?
- 1). Click on the download link if you're downloading software from the Internet. If you're installing software from a disc or a folder saved on the computer, select the "Run" or "Install" option from the AutoPlay window or locate the executable file (e.g., example.exe) and double-click on it to initiate the installation process.
- 2). Click "Run," if prompted by the browser's security dialog window. Click "Run" again, if prompted by the computer's security dialog window.
- 3). Read and accept the user agreement. Most software programs require you to accept the user agreement before installation will begin.
- 4). Pick a save location. Most software programs will attempt to install in the "Program Files" folder on the C: drive. To select another location, click on the "Browse" option and select a new save location.
- 5). Check or uncheck the "Desktop icons" option, depending whether you want a desktop icon of the application to appear on your desktop.
