How to Fix an Ice Maker That Will Not Stop Making Ice
- 1). Unplug your refrigerator before you begin working.
- 2). Open the freezer compartment of the fridge and look inside the ice maker's ice bin for a thin metal or plastic arm or paddle. This is the device that signals the ice maker is full, when enough ice has been produced that it comes into contact with the arm.
- 3). Remove all obstructions around the arm, including clumps of ice cubes frozen together, and lift the arm. This resets your icemaker.
