Tutorial for the Mikrotik 2 ADSL
- 1). Connect the power cord to the port on the back of the Mikrotik. Connect the other end of this cable to a working AC outlet. Connect the Ethernet cord to the port on the back of the unit and connect the other end to an open Ethernet port on your computer. Turn the computer on.
- 2). Go to the Mikrotik download page for the Winbox program and click "Save" when the menu option pops up. Once the file is downloaded, click on the "Open" button to open the program. This will allow you to access the unit to set it up.
- 3). Click on the "Wireless" option on the menu. Click on the "Security Profiles" tab and click on the red "+" to create a new profile. Enter the name you want to use for the profile in the first text box. Enter the "WPA" pass code that is located on a sticker on your modem in this field. Enter the "WPA2" code on the same sticker into this field.
- 4). Click "OK" to save. On the menu that appears, click "Interfaces" and double-click on the "WLAN1" option. Click on the "Wireless" tab and in the drop down menu select the profile you just created, then click "OK" to save. Disconnect the Mikrotik from your computer.
- 5). Connect the Ethernet cable from the Mikrotik to the "Out" port on the DSL modem. Disconnect the power source and reconnect it to reboot the unit. When the unit comes back on, it will show up on your list of available wireless connections.
