Smart Engine Antivirus is a new fake spyware program on the scene that is infecting thousands of unfortunate internet users every day.
It is doing so through free media downloads.
An unsuspecting user downloads a video file, for example, and within days experiences computer slowdown, freezing, and pop-ups warning against a list of found viruses.
Many of these users are tricked into paying for a "full version" of Smart Engine, and serious theft of money or identity theft can result.

Some additional symptoms of this malware are browser redirects, taskbar warnings, strange new desktop icons and/or wallpaper, and spam messages to your e-mail contacts.
We must remove Smart Engine antivirus to protect ourselves and our contacts.
Instead of buying a new computer or throwing yours out the window, you will need to uninstall this program either manually or automatically.
The manual removal method is tricky and should only be performed by a PC technician or an expert PC user.
If you are either of the two, you will need to dig into your PC's registry folder and remove related DLL and LNK files.
You will then delete related EXE files and remove related folders.
You will also want to block related websites and browse the internet in safe mode.
