The Hewlett-Packard (HP) Tape Array 5300 is a hard drive storage device for HP servers that provides additional storage space to your system. The device also allows you to change out hard drives without turning off your HP server. Also known as the StorageWorks Tape Array 5300, the device is expandable and requires electrical power to function. If the HP TA 5300's power specifications are not met, the device will not function properly. - The HP TA 5300 requires a standard electrical outlet delivering 100 to 127 VAC (+/-10%) or 200 to 240 VAC (+/-10%) 50/60 hertz (Hz). The device contains a standard three-prong plug and the ability to detect whether the electrical outlet it is plugged into is 100 to 127 VAC or 200 to 240 VAC.
- The device's power usage depends on the amount of hard drive and storage drive devices present in the unit. The HP TA 5300 is capable of accommodating and controlling an additional power supply providing 130W, 138 VAC and 444 British thermal units (BTU).
- The HP TA 5300 includes two power lights that inform you of the device's electrical status. A green, steady light indicates the device is operating correctly and any hard drives/storage devices inside the unit are receiving electrical power properly. A red, flashing light indicates an electrical problem, one or more of the HP TA 5300's drives are failing or a drive is not connected properly.
