How to Make a Broom Out of Yarn
- 1). Cut 25 pieces of yarn in 7-inch lengths. Use a color such as taupe or tan for a natural-colored broom, or use orange, purple or green for a Halloween broom. Bundle the yarns together, keeping the ends even.
- 2). Place a brown pipe cleaner on a surface, then place the center of the bundle of yarns onto the center of the pipe cleaner. Wrap the pipe cleaner in half and twist the two wires twice to secure and encase the yarns. The yarns become the broom area. Pull the yarns down so the ends meet evenly.
- 3). Twist the pipe cleaners together until you reach the ends to create the broom handle.
- 4). Cut a piece of brown pipe cleaner about 3 inches long.
- 5). Wrap the pipe cleaner, about 1/4-inch from the stem, over the bundle of yarns. Twist twice to secure.
- 6). Cut the bottom of the yarn broom to create an even edge.
