    • 1). Insert the USB drive into the USB port of a computer.

    • 2). Double-click the SanDisk U3 icon in the system tray. This loads the U3 Launchpad window.

    • 3). Double-click the "Enable Security" link at the bottom of the window. This displays the password setup area.

    • 4). Type a password in both the "New password" and "Retype password" boxes. You can also type a password hint in the "Hint (optional)" box.

    • 5). Click the "OK" button to save the password. Remove the USB drive from your computer and then plug it back in. U3 now prompts you for the password you created. To access the drive, type your password in the "Password" field, and then click the "Log In" button.
